Scoundrel
Scoundrel is an adaptation of the traditional card game.
In Scoundrel, you play with a deck of 44 cards.
26 Monsters
9 Health Potions
9 Weapons
You begin with 20 HP.
Your goal is to navigate through a series of "Rooms" in a dungeon until you cannot create any further rooms. If you are unable to full draw a new room to the field then you win the game. If your health points drop below 20 HP, you lose the game.
A room consists of 4 cards, You must interact with 3 cards in order to complete a room. Upon completing a room the final remaining card stays on and 3 new cards are drawn to create the next room.
When a new room is drawn you can choose to Face the room or skip the room. You can face the room by performing an action within the room. This will lock you into playing the room. You can also skip the room which will move the cards of this room to the bottom of the deck and draw a new room. If you skip a room you must play the following room regardless of what is drawn. Be careful.
When you select to interact with a monster you can choose one of two options:
1) Barehanded Attack: This will defeat the monster, but at the cost of losing HP equal to the monster's Power.
2) Attack with Weapon: Only available if a weapon is equipped, and the monster power is below the current weapon's Bound Power. Upon use, The player will lose HP equal to Weapon Power minus Monster Power, and the Bound Power tied to the weapon will decrease to the power of the slain Monster.
When you interact with a weapon you will have the option to equip the weapon. You can only have a single weapon equipped at any given time. Equipping a weapon while a weapon is already equipped will replace the currently equipped weapon. Weapons do not have a Bound Power by default. A Bound Power is only assigned upon the first slaying of a monster with a weapon.
When you interact with a health potion your HP will increase by the value of the health potion. Although you can interact with multiple health potions in a room, you will only receive the benefits of the first potion that you interact with.
